Civil War Union Training Camp

Date: April 28th & 29th

Learn about life of a Union Soldier during the Civil War as you take part in the training.

You will be able to witness what life was like for Soldiers during the Civll War while they were in training camp getting ready to go to battle. Walk through the camp and see how they lived and they trained including firing demonstrations. These camps were not easy living for the soldiers and many of them perished here before even reaching a battle field.

This is an event that will appeal to both the young and the old as you will be able to see history actually come to life. Most Civil War events concentrate on just the battles but we strive to bring the history alive. You will be able to witness what their every day life was like in the training camp during the civil war along with living history displays and demonstrations and watch as they carry out their company level and above drills.

The kids will be fascinated to see the soldiers in period dress along with the weapons of the time and it will give them a chance ot be up close and personal with people who have a passion for the civil war and can bring the history that they read in their books to life. Everyone will be fascinated by seeing what life was truly like in those days.

Ladies, join the Soldiers' Aid Society while attending the afternoon tea. Also stay for the Soldiers' Dance @ 4pm on Sunday. You will be able to hear period authentic music and take part in an actual Civil War Era dance.
